2025 Yadkin County Shore Community Grants Announced

The Shallow Ford Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s Shore Community Grants, investing in nonprofit-led initiatives that create lasting impact in Yadkin County. These grants, made possible by the Wayne and Bradley Shore Fund, support programs that address unmet community needs, strengthen organizational capacity, and foster a deeper sense of community. Nearly $140,000 was awarded to 14 nonprofit organizations—the largest number of Shore grants funded so far. This year’s process was highly competitive, reflecting the strength and creativity of local nonprofits as they work to meet critical needs and build long-term solutions.  

2025 Grant Recipients:

  • Cancer Services, Inc. – Support staff to help cancer patients access medication assistance and emergency financial aid for transportation and treatment, reducing barriers and financial hardship.
  • Compassion Care Center – Expands BrightCourse online lessons on prenatal care, parenting, and life skills.
  • The ARK – Provides tutoring, education support, and transportation for homeless women and families, helping children enroll in school and adults pursue GED or job training.
  • Forbush Volunteer Fire Department – Upgrades thermal imaging cameras and water supply equipment to enhance fire and rescue efficiency.
  • Grace Clinic of Yadkin Valley – Integrates dental services into primary care to address chronic health issues and improve quality of life for patients.
  • Hands of Hope Medical Clinic – Expands integrated medical and behavioral health care, language support, and outreach for 3,000+ uninsured Yadkin County residents.
  • Love Out Loud – Establishes a Fostering Families Resource Center in Yadkin County to provide essential supplies for children and families in collaboration with DSS.
  • Impact Yadkin – Mobilizes 50+ churches and volunteers for home repairs, free medical/dental clinics, and youth leadership programs to strengthen families and communities.
  • Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care – Provides charitable hospice care for patients and specialized dementia caregiver training to improve quality of service.
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC – Expands the Weekend Backpack Program to deliver 100–120 weekend meal packs weekly to food-insecure students at Yadkinville Elementary School.
  • The Shepherd’s House – Uses mobile units to reach unsheltered Yadkin County residents with food, hygiene, and referrals for housing and health services.
  • Yadkin Arts Council – For the annual Page to Stage production presenting Charlotte’s Web for 3rd and 4th graders and hosting poetry workshops for students of all ages to foster literacy and creative expression.
  • Yadkin County Rescue Squad and EMS – Adding specialized rescue tools including a safety tool for freeing rings from swollen fingers and tree rescue equipment, improving readiness for high-risk emergencies.
  • YMCA of Northwest NC – Operates the middle school afterschool program, providing structured academic support, enrichment, and mentorship.
