Bingham Arts Grants Awarded to Bring New Arts Programming to Clemmons

November 25, 2025

The Shallow Ford Foundation is thrilled to announce the first recipients of its Bingham Arts Grants, a new grant opportunity designed to bring vibrant arts and cultural experiences to Clemmons.

Funded by the Thad and Mary Bingham Fund of the Shallow Ford Foundation, these grants build on the success of the Bingham Arts Series, which for two years showcased music and art events in the community. With the shift to the Bingham Arts Grants, local nonprofit organizations will now present their own arts and entertainment events to the community. Grants of up to $5,000 were awarded to projects that enrich community life, spark creativity, and contribute to the vitality of Clemmons.

Event dates and locations are still being finalized. Here’s what’s coming soon to Clemmons:

  • a/perture cinema – a four-part film and music series in Clemmons, featuring “Elvis” and “The Wiz” with live musical performances and discussions.
  • Associated Artists of Winston-Salem – A community-designed mural led by local artists, inviting resident participation to foster civic pride and beautify a public space.
  • Delta  Arts Center – Three free workshops in painting, collage, and storytelling led by diverse Triad artists, culminating in a public art exhibition.
  • Muddy  River Art Association – A hands-on art class for adults using colored pencils, taught by a local expert and open to all skill levels.
  • Village  of Clemmons – A yearlong series of free and accessible arts and cultural programs including concerts by the Salem Band and Winston-Salem Choral Artists.

“These grants reflect my parents’ commitment to a thriving, vibrant community,” said Donna Bingham Merriman. “The Bingham Arts Grants are helping local organizations bring exciting arts programs to Clemmons, and we’re so excited for residents to experience them firsthand!”
