The Shallow Ford Foundation is thrilled to announce the recipients of the Mary Alice Warren Community Center Programming Grants for 2026, supporting nonprofits that provide engaging, accessible, and enriching programs at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center in Lewisville. These programs not only honor Mary Alice Warren’s legacy of generosity and her love for her community, but they also bring arts, music, and cultural experiences to participants of all ages and backgrounds.  

Coming to the Community Center in 2026: (Dates and times for these programs are still being finalized)  

Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County  
Free and low-cost arts programs, including storytime series, family drop-in art classes, and visual arts workshops led by professional artists for all ages and skill levels.  ‍

Associated Artists of Winston-Salem  
Affordable workshops offering beginner and intermediate art instruction, giving participants the chance to explore new mediums and techniques in a welcoming setting.  ‍

Piedmont Opera  
Opera LITE daytime performances featuring live singing, engaging talks, and Q&A sessions designed to make opera approachable for everyone.

‍Music Carolina  
A free 45-minute concert introducing young audiences to classical music through the beloved story of Peter and the Wolf, followed by an interactive Q&A.  ‍

Salem Swing Band  
A two-part program with a beginner/intermediate swing dance lesson and an evening dance featuring live music, creating fun and connection across generations.  ‍

Winston-Salem Symphony  
A number of free concerts throughout the year with small professional ensembles, offering beautiful music and insights into composers and history for audiences of all ages.
