Two awards will be given in the Salem Glen College Assistance Program, which aims to help adults return to school to improve their options for a higher-earning career. The program awards scholarships of up to $2,500 towards a two-year degree or certification program from Forsyth Tech or Davidson-Davie Community College. Also, it provides a mentor, a volunteer from the Salem Glen neighborhood, to scholarship recipients to help the student navigate their education and career path. The awards are given in honor of two people this year: Richard Bunker and Jerome (Fritz) Burkel.
Up to $2,000 for a 2023 graduate of West Forsyth, Reagan, or North Davidson High School. Applicants must plan to attend a 2-year or 4-year program of study leading to a degree or certification in any trade, technical, or vocational field with a clear career pathway.
