Through its continued investment, the Yadkin County Education Foundation provides critical funding that enhances classroom opportunities and strengthens educational outcomes for all students.”
Melanie Watson and Grace Wells, teachers at Starmount Middle School, share their excitement about the grant: “I feel both honored and excited that The Shallowford Foundation has provided our students this opportunity to work together again. The United Sound program has been such a wonderful experience! Our students have grown as musicians but also gained friendships that they treasure! It has promoted inclusivity all across our campus. United Sound has also given our parents experiences that they didn't think would be possible for their children. Thank you doesn't feel sufficient!”
Advisory board member Karen Matthews Ferguson shared her reflection on the classroom surprise visits: “What an exciting day to be in Yadkin County Schools. The teachers were surprised and so appreciative of the grant support, and they immediately shared with their students how the funding will enhance their classrooms. The students clapped, the teachers smiled, and I even got a few hugs from the children. Best day ever.”
