Up to $5,000 annually

Summary:

Up to $5,000 annually for four years (two years if attending Forsyth Tech), based on student need, for a 2025 high school graduate from Forsyth County planning to attend Forsyth Tech or Winston-Salem State University. Applicants must have demonstrated significant financial need. Preference will be given to applicants who attended Cook Elementary School in Winston-Salem.

Purpose:

For students who plan to pursue courses and programs at Forsyth Tech, a scholarship will be awarded up to $2,000 per year of study for up to two years based on satisfactory academic progress. It is understood that post-graduation intentions may include entering the workforce or transferring into a degree program at WSSU. If planning to apply for admission to WSSU after attending Forsyth Tech, the student must re-apply for the scholarship. For students who plan to pursue courses and programs at Winston-Salem State University, a scholarship will be awarded up to $5,000 per year of study for up to four years based on satisfactory academic progress.
