This scholarship provides $1,000 per year and is renewable for up to four years with consistent enrollment, totaling $4,000 to support deserving students from Forbush and Starmount High Schools who plan to attend either a two-year or four-year institution. Recipients are chosen for their proven academic excellence, active involvement in school athletics and clubs, faith-based example of service and commitment to living out values of service and positivity —qualities that reflect Norah’s legacy. Preference may be given to applicants who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
Purpose
Norah Rayne Smitherman was a 2022 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Forbush High School, a devoted member of Collide Church, and a young woman whose kindness, faith, and leadership touched everyone around her. Her life was a beautiful reflection of service, strength, and unwavering faith, and her spirit lives on through the people and community she loved.
